Tuesday 13 March 2007
As reported in the MK Business press March 2007.
Environmental specialists company based in Milton Keynes is planning several 'green' initiatives to highlight the issues of climate change. But it is wondering whether the move is already too late. Bioener G is encouraging business to look more closely at switching to biofuels, bioethanol (petrol), biodiesel and biomass. Bioener G help companies to access and implement the use of biofuel as a renewable energy source, also providing the analysis equipment that will confirm that fuel complies with EU regulations of quality. The firm based at Bletchley Park, is working with motor racing driver Mark Hoskins, whos BackDraft Motorsport team plans to use bioethanol fuel in its racing cars this year. The partnership aims to address issues associated by carbon neutral fuels, in particular fuel quality. BackDraft also wants to compete in the Silverstone 24-hour race this year if the organisers give permission for him to fuel his car with Bio. Mr Hoskins said "The race will be of the ultimate test of the equipment and drivers and will go along way towards proving that bioethanol is a serious alternative".
Bioener G, is a hub for the renewable energy sector and ensures that customers find the alternative fuel supplies that they need and are encouraging supplier growth in the market. Mark Simmons, Managing Director said that "using biofuels reduces emissions and contributes toward reaching government targets, however, there is no time to wait and we should start implementing the use of alternative fuel now in commercial vehicles". He continues, "We are pleased that Backdraft have recognised the importance of bioethanol and we are keen to work with them. We know that there will be a great output from the engine, higher efficiency and reduced emissions; we are also speaking with other race teams, including those using diesel engines. This will certainly demonstrate to the commercial world, that biofuels is a viable option"
